Curtis Newart was born in Calgary, Alberta and currently resides in Vancouver, British Columbia.
Newart appeared in Vancouver's Xtra West! newspaper in August 2006, featuring his appearance in Vancouver showcasing songs from his debut album for over 300,000 spectators.
In September 2006, Newart was featured on the cover and an interview in the LA Source newspaper. Songs from Exploits In A Modern World have been played throughout North America and the album landed in the Top 40.
Curtis has also helped raise over $500,000 for charity, with the support of Oprah Winfrey, Elizabeth Taylor, RuPaul, Bob Hope, Roseanne, Carol Burnett and other entertainers.
He performed live and promoted his music in New York City in December 2007 and filmed the Ridicule music video. The music video for Ridicule ranked #3 on YouTube on February 16, 2008.
In March 2009, Curtis ranked in the top 3% of over 12,000 international pop recording artists on Reverb Nation. He also had over 46,000 plays and 26,000 friends on MySpace as of September, 2008.
His single Dead Religion ranked #36 on Amazon UK's Religion chart in December 2009. At the same time, Spanish retailer Price Minister reports ratings of Curtis Newart's Exploits In A Modern World at 4.5 out of 5 based on 1,987 consumer responses.
Newart has recently completed the filming of his second music video I Would shot throughout Mexico. He’s scheduled to return to the studio to begin recording songs for his next album Playing With Fire this month.
